Dr. Emmanuela Ojukwu is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia, School of Nursing. Her research niche is based on racial and gender health disparities and inequities, and health promotion for marginalized population, particularly African, Caribbean and Black women and youths. She also conducts research on sexual health with specific focus on sexually transmitted infections, particularly HIV/AIDS. Dr. Ojukwu often takes a psychosocial, socio-ecologic and socio-structural approach to exploring health problems among these populations. She brings her research expertise from trainings and education received from clinical and academic institutions in the US, and has written and published articles in these areas. Dr. Ojukwu is a manuscript reviewer for journals related to HIV, nursing scholarship, public health among others; and is proficient in quantitative, qualitative, mixed analytical research methods, literature reviews, and concept analyses.
